Lawsuit: Cops killed Ronald Greene and lied to his mother about the cause of death
If not for a free press, we’d be unaware of all the evil that’s done with taxpayers money, in taxpayers names, and on taxpayers time. In Louisiana, for example, taxpayers paid State troopers who tasered, kicked, dragged and beat a Black man who later died. Afterward, the police went to the victim’s mother and told her he perished in a car accident.
At least that’s what Ronald Greene’s family says in a lawsuit, and I believe them.
It happened in 2019, when police tried to pull Greene over for an unspecified violation and he fled. The chase ended when he crashed his car. Louisiana State Police then pulled him from the vehicle, tasered him, kicked him, punched him and dragged him.
According to bodycam footage, one of the officers said, “I’ve got blood all over me, I hope this guy ain’t got f**king AIDS.” Another officer who was on the scene was heard in an audio recording last year saying they beat “the ever-living f***” out of Greene.”
And after they did so, according to bodycam footage, they left Greene on the ground, handcuffed and bleeding, as they spent more than nine minutes cleaning blood off of their hands and faces with sanitizer wipes.
We would t know this if not for the Associated Press, which obtained the footage and released it to the public. That’s what free press does. Now the Justice Department is investigating and so are state authorities. But now it’s up to the people.
